sunday sketch | Molly
We asked Molly Edwards (username MollyFrances) to join us this week to share her take on our sketches. She mixes things up by keeping up with Project Life, layouts AND mini albums...we were excited to see what she would do with our sketches!
First, let's start with our sketches. Our layout sketch is from Susan Weinroth :
And our card sketch is from Robyn Werlich:
We love when our Sketch Guest feels the urge to share TWO projects...take a look at both of these!
Supplies:
Kits Used: Roller Rink, Woodbrooke Road, Neverland, Planetarium, Roundabout, Valley High,
Supplies Used: Wood Veneer Stars, Wood Veneer Hearts, Atlantic Cork Thickers, Atlantic Cork Sticker
I decided to convert this card sketch into a 12x12" layout. I thought the banner shapes would be great journaling spots. The simple shape is also a great way to keep the focus on the photo and the doodles on that amazing Tim & Beck paper. The Crate Paper chevron paper was a little loud with my muted color scheme so I placed a piece of vellum over it to tone down the color. I played with texture and dimension by adding in the cork elements, a few wood veneer pieces, stickers on pop dots and the hemp cord outlining the middle portion of my layout.
Kits/Supplies: 34th Street, Block Party, Front Row, Big Screen, Neverland, Wendy, Valley High
Supplies Used: Wood Veneer Hearts & Arrows, Wood Veneer Circles
I loved the photo grid that Susan created in her layout. It's a great way to use a bunch of photos from one event. I decided to make photo strips and placed them slightly off center, as if I just threw them down onto the paper. (In actuality, I spent an absurd amount of time making them look "natural". I know you know what I'm talking about.) I incorporated a few personal touches by hand stitching around the photo strips and hand lettering the title. I recreated the park scene with the cityscape stamp and a puffy tree sticker. My color palette is mostly blue with pops of pink, lime green, orange and yellow to make it more fun.

Stunning! I love the way you mixed your kits! Looks like you achieved your goal of making your photo strips look "thrown down"—time well spent! Love your hand lettered title, too! Your first layout is just stunning—you were a beautiful bride, and your page compliments you and your friends perfectly!
