weekly challenge | Deb Duty

Don't you love the feeling you get from totally using up one of your kits? It's so much better than hoarding those pretty papers! So what about when you only have a little left? I've got some tips today to help get more out of your kits. I created this layout with very little supplies from the Valley High kits.

Here's what I did. I sewed leftover strips of patterned paper onto the cardstock to ground my photo. Stamps are a great way to make your own embellishments. I used the stamps from the Valley High card kit and card add on. I stamped the flowers and the bird and cut them out so I could layer them and add dimension to my page. I also cut out a few embellishments - the hello, clouds and arrow from an exclusive paper included in the Valley High scrapbook kit

(supplies - cardstock : Studio Calico More White ; patterned paper : Valley High Scrapbook KitMatthew Add-OnJennifer Add-OnMolly Add-On ; letter stickers : Matthew Add-On ; stamps : Valley High Card KitCorey Add-On ; ink : Hero Arts Pale Tomato Shadow InkHero Arts Charcoal Shadow InkHero Arts Mango Dye Ink ; other : sequins, date stamp)

So when you only have a tiny bit left of one of your favorite kits (or even a favorite collection that you can't let go of!), I challenge you to make just one more project!

For this week's challenge, dig into your kits or your scrapbook stash and try and use something up! Share your new project for this challenge in the SC gallery, then link up your project here in this post by September 20nd to be entered to win a $5 GC to the Studio Calico Shop!

Oh I love this!! You were very inspiring, thank you! I used up a few bits and pieces I had around. Also, I loved how you cut up that graphic black and white paper and used it in your title so I scraplifted that idea! http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/96964-hey-love

Here's mine....I was holding on the last few pieces of the cloud vellum pp that I had left over (from the So Cal plus add-ons) and finally used it up on this LO....finding a title out of the letters I had remaining in the kit was the bigger challenge ;)

I was holding onto that beautiful "Let's Do This" card for something special. I was happy to have this challenge to motivate me to use it! I thought less was more, so it would really be the focus!
