weekly challenge | Jen Jockisch & Leena Loh

Hey Everyone! This is Jen Jockish and Leena Loh here today bringing you another fun challenge! This week we're going to do photo collage of any event, occasion or vacation etc. and put them together on your project.

You can use any photo collage apps from your phone, Photoshop or even Picasa to collage your photos, whichever software is available to you.

From Jen : I dislike spending time editing, choosing and printing photos, but I love the way that multiple photos tell a story. In order to keep it quick and easy for me, I just use a collage app on my phone. I can then add all the photos I want to the collage, then edit, and print in just a few quick steps.

I chose three photos that I felt like helped reinforce my theme and then I created the collage in PicFrame. Then, I opened the collage in PicTapGo and edited and saved to my camera roll. After that, I just printed it with my Canon Selphy. The whole process took maybe 5 minutes, start to finish.

When printing my collage, I chose the 'bordered' option to keep the photo a bit smaller. I didn't cut any of the excess paper off of the photo, I used that as a matt for some of my other page elements to help them all feel like they are a part of the photo. After that, I just layered some cut up journaling cards and placed some vellum on top, and embellished.

(Supplies: misc. cardstock; Studio Calico Yearbook journal cards, Studio Calico Snippets paper - Hmm, Studio Calico Snippets paper - Oh My; patterned paper, Studio Calico Atlantic Star Sticker Sheet; Studio Calico Classic Calico wood veneer arrows; American Crafts Dear Lizzy patterned paper; American Crafts Thickers, Studio Calico alpha stickers; Silhouette Cameo; Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher; American Crafts foam adhesive; American Typewriter font)

From Leena :  I love making photo collages when I have many pictures taken during an event or when I go on vacation with my family. I would either use a photo collage apps from my phone, PicFrame is my favorite or I'll use Picasa to collage my pictures that I downloaded to my computer.

I'll pick a few of my favorite shots from my vacation photo folders in this layout in Picasa, select the "collage" option and my photos will then be collaged into 4x6 landscape format. I like to add white borders in between photos and once I'm happy with my collage, I'll then print it onto the 4x6 photo paper and it's ready to go onto my layout. The photo of our family vacation is the main highlight of this page, layered with lots of gorgeous goodies from the Atlantic collection.

Supplies: Atlantic Collection - Pattern Paper - New Haven, Atlantic City, South Hampton, Vellum, Burnished Circle Wood Veneer, Cork Arrow & Chevron Stickers, Rockabye Thickers, 12x12 Sticker Sheet, Star Stickers, Sequins,

Let's see how you use photo collages! Share your new project for this challenge in the SC gallery, then link up your project here in this post by August 26th to be entered to win a $5 GC to the Studio Calico Shop!
