Letterpress Gift Tags
Nicole Reaves : The magical presents letterpress plate just screams "color me." Instead of coloring each little image for my gift tags, I added a simple wash of color with Mister Huey's, watercolors or ink daubers on letterpress paper that I pre-cut to size (2x2 or 2x3) before inking the plate with black and putting through the letterpress. Now you have a great tag base to embellish as much (or as little) as you like.
Shanna Noel : Supplies- Letterpress: Hello Forever Labels, Hello Forever Deer, Label Craft Dies, Black Ink, 4x3 thick letterpress paper pack, Letterpress Bundle Stamps: Peppermint, Staz-On Jet Black
Tina Aszmus : I made my tags from a piece of thick letterpress paper I had used on a previous project. I ended up mixing too much of the green on my acrylic plate so I ended up using the letterpress paper to remove the excess ink from my brayer. I liked the texture it created so I cut them into squares which almost reminds me of Pantone swatches. I blind printed my sentiment from the Magical sentiments set on the white part of the tag since it didn't show too well on the green.
Celine Navarro : Usually, I never ever make my gift tags. Lack of time, or simply because I'm too lazy to do them, I simply grab a tag and write a note for the person who will receive the present. But, this year, I've been wanting to play with my Letterpress. I simply layered some gesso on the tags, let them dry, then sprayed 3 different colors of Mister Huey's Color Mists on a kraft sheet (Sky, Little Boy Blue and Gold) and mixed them with water. I dipped the tags in the ink and dry them with my heat gun.
I ran them through my Letterpress when the ink was perfectly dry and voilà! You can personalize your tags afterwards with stickers or embellishments as you like!
yay for letterpress! i love all of the tags!
