Sunday Sketch | Tracy

This week, Tracy (SC username, tracyxo), is joining us and sharing her take on our layout and Project Life sketches. We love Tracy's fun style and are always excited to see her projects in the gallery. We knew she would do a fantastic job with the sketches and we couldn't wait to see her projects!

First, let's look at this week's sketches - our 12x12 layout comes from April Foster's Blankie layout:

And our card sketch comes from Dana Fleckenstein's Thank You card:

And finally our Project Life sketch from Tina Aszmus' Last Week of January spread:

And let's see how Tracy took on these sketches:

I loved the look of this layout by April! It’s simple and fun! For my take on it, I used it to document a day in my life and created a mini 6x8 layout for my Project Life spread. I kept the background simple and bonus, it already had "today" written on it! I printed off a couple pictures I had taken as small squares and placed them along the grid lines of the paper. I added a gold heart over top of the black heart that was on the card stock (because, well gold is my favourite). I used a wood veneer circle in the bottom corner to add some texture to the page and I thought “captured moments” described the spread perfectly. To add to the title, I stamped “this is us” because, well this is us today!

Supplies: Printshop wood veneer circles, Printshop accent 4x6 stickers. Essentials chipboard gold hearts, LemonLush Sweet & Sour, Steinbeck Add-on

This was such a fun way to challenge myself and I loved working with the sketches! For me keeping things simple is key! My colourful Sugar Rush Project Life kit arrived a few days before I was invited to take part in this Sketch Challenge so I was excited to play around with the kit right away. I started with all of my filler cards first to make sure all the colours would play well together, I loved that this kit already contained various cards with circles on them. I used a circle punch to create smaller circles to layer over top of the pie chart cards. I dug through my stash to find the “time for fun” card, again used a circle punch and then I layered it over that amazing vellum. Seeing as I’m crazy for anything gold, I added a couple gold stars and a gold geotag for added sparkle. On the “love this” card, I used a gold label (seriously, these labels are everything) to describe the picture of my dog Sophie.

Supplies: Sugar Rush Project Life kit, Cuppa Project Life kit, Double Scoop Project Life kit, June Add-on Stamp by Elise Blaha Cripe, Essentials chipboard gold stars, Essentials chipboard gold geotags, LemonLush gold punchinella vellum, Printshop accent 4x6 stickers
