weekly challenge | celebrate today

This week, we're challenging you to celebrate TODAY. Whether it's a pocket in a Project Life® spread, a layout summing up your day, or a card wishing someone a happy right now, we'd love to see where this prompt takes you!

Nicole Reaves : When I saw the new Today letterpress plate, I knew I wanted to use it to document a Day in the Life for my Project Life album. I blended teal green, teal blue and navy letterpress inks together to create an ombre effect and pressed the image on the thick letterpress chipboard.

My insert is a Design F page protector I cut down so I had 3 cards across and 3 down. The remnants of my Office Hours kit was perfect for embellishing the rest of my spread with lots of blues, green and brown.

Supplies : kit - Office Hours Project Life kit; Today Letterpress Plate; letterpress ink - Teal Green, Teal Blue, Navy; chipboard - Thick Letterpress Chipboard; page protector - Design F: patterned paper - Studio Calico Grid Paper; ink - Studio Calico Color Theory Something Blue & Deja Blue

Maggie Massey : I was so excited to open this new letterpress plate! I have been trying to use my letterpress more and more and having such a fantastic new toy gave me the perfect opportunity.

I started out making just a few fun things...just to see how the plate looked and to get warmed up. OK...I didn't really need to get "warmed up" - I just wanted to make some cute stuff.

So one PL card, one envelope & one leftover SC bag later...I figured I'd better to get to the real "work."

By accident (or maybe it was kismet), I ordered two Office Hours 4x6 paper pads this month, so I knew I wanted to do something with one of those.

I grabbed a few extra supplies and decided to make a little mini book... I cut a piece of chipboard down to 4x6 and ran it through my letterpress so that the plate left a debossed design.

I really like how this turned out...the chalky look of the gelato makes me happy. I used my Cinch to bind the cover to the rest of the paper pad...now i have a darling little mini book! One of these days I plan on spending the day taking photos and adding them all to this book...one of these days when we're not trapped inside because it's so cold and snowy, that is.

Supplies : "Today" letterpress plate, Office Hours 4x6 paper pack, Faber Castel White Gelato, Letterpress Chipboard, paint brush, Cinch binding machine

Now it’s your turn to create a new project celebrating today! Share your new project for the challenge in the SC gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by March 24th to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop!

Great work! Love it! I have been wondering for a while where you get the lined 3x4 cards from (the ones with horizontal lines and the red vertical line on the left hand side). Been looking everywhere... Do you make them yourself? Would love to know.
    Thanks!
