Member Challenge | Scrap Recipe with Nina
This week, our member Nina (username NinaSt), is challenging you to use her scrap recipe. We're excited to turn our weekly challenges over to the SC community! Check in each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery. Be sure to follow Nina here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her!
Hi there! It´s Nina here today to present you the Monday challenge. I sometimes scrap layouts with a scrap recipe in mind. I love these kind of challenges.
For my layout I used 4 different patterned papers from the Bessie and Clover Add-Ons. I really wanted to use that star paper from Studio Tekturek as my background, because I had the idea to cut out some of the stars. I used the wood veneer mask from Bessie and a little wood veneer I had from an older kit. I had this title in my mind from Rihanna´s song "Please don´t stop the music". Because it is a rather long title, I decided to split the title into different sized alphas. In the end I used 3 different alphabets. The floral paper from Studio Tekturek was a bit to colorful, so I decided to tone it down with a piece of vellum, but plain vellum was a bit to boring for me. I embossed it with a chevron embossing folder. No layout is finished without some embellishments, right? I always use a odd number of embellishments, so I used 5 different embellishments for my layout.
My challenge for you is:
Use
- 1 piece of vellum (this can be small or a big piece like I used it on my layout)
- 2 different wood veneers
- 3 different alphabets (I know you all have many alphabets, so use them)
- 4 different patterned papers (you are allowed to use both sides, it only counts as one patterned paper)
- 5 different embellishments of your choice
And now have fun! I can´t wait to see what you come up with!
Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Nina's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the SC gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by April 28th to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop!
