Weekly Challenge | Bold Title with Meghann
This week, our member Meghan (username meghannandrew), is challenging the community to start a project with a title. We're excited to turn our weekly challenges over to the SC community! Check in each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery!
Last week, I had an idea for the title of a layout that I wanted to create, "Hello today you are awesome," with a really bold look. When I sat down at my desk to create, I realized that I still hadn't used the 'RAD' watercolor die-cut from the Office Hours scrapbook kit & quickly changed 'awesome' to 'rad.' With such a long title, I thought it would look best in a central-column designed layout with the title as the focal point. Then I set myself to the task of finding a photo from a day that was truly rad, and this photo of me cooking with a local celebrity chef last month definitely fit the bill. I wanted the die-cut to stand out, so I used my water brush and a water-based marker to create a grey ombre effect, but it just wasn't bold enough for me. That's when I took out my American Crafts glitter, mixed gold and silver together & added some bling to the die-cut. Once my title was down, I added some patterned paper strips to the top & bottom of the layout, made a large pennant with the awesome ledger paper from the Office Hours kit, circled the corresponding date & sewed it along with some other Amy Tangerine Cut & Paste die-cuts to the top. The addition of some simple chipboard stars & wood veneer embellishments finished off the page.
My challenge to you this week is to use a title as your starting point for a layout & go bold with it! I can't wait to see your creations in the gallery!
Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Meghan's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the SC gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by April 14th to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop!

I love your page! The watercolor diecuts form last month are perfect for this technique!! This is what I tried to do with that idea in mind:

I really love Meghan's layout!!! The gold dipped "RAD" is to die for, and I am definitely going to try that! In the meantime, here's my "bold title" layout :)
