Weekly Challenge | Stamped Background with Andrea

This week, our member Andrea (username andreacollects), is challenging you to create a stamped background for your next project. We're excited to turn our weekly challenges over to the SC community! Check in each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery. Be sure to follow Andrea here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her!

Hello hello. I'm Andrea and I'm so happy to be here today. Thank you so much Studio Calico for asking me to host this week's challenge. First I want to talk how my layout came together. After I got the Hello Hello scrapbook kit, I really wanted to use those foam stamps somehow. One good thing is, they're not too delicate so they work great with paint. As there was some coordinating paint in the kit, it was a no-brainer to use the stamps together with the paint. As I knew which paint color (blue) and which foam stamp (ampersand) I wanted to use, I went searching for a photo that fits the color. This photo of me and my boyfriend from last years vacation was perfect. First I thought about stamping the whole background but that would have been too busy. So I added some bigger strips of patterned paper that also came in the kit to the bottom and stamped only three rows of ampersands. I really like how the stamped background creates a pattern itself. And here comes my challenge: I want you to use one or more stamps to create some kind of a background. You can do it with paint like I did or you can use regular ink pads. The important thing is, that your stamped background should be a big part of your layout. I promise you it'll be fun. I'm looking forward to see what you all come up with.

Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Andrea's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the SC gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by June 30th and to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop!

This is an awesome challenge and just the inspiration I needed to use the foam stamps that cam with this month's kit. Here is my layout:

I used black and white silhouette cameo fabric ink to make the gray ink. I find it doesn't wrinkle the paper. Thank you for such a fun challenge.
