Our Layout of the Week, The Good Life, comes from our member Aimee (username adow). We love Aimee's bright layout with it's bold color palette and great use of our Penny Arcade kits. To keep up with Aimee and see more of her work, be sure to follow her here at SC and her blog!

Hi! Honestly I can’t believe I am back here again so soon. Thank you to everyone who added ‘The Good Life’ to his or her inspiration book. I appreciate each and every one, but I guess you’re all here to learn how my layout came together. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about my process and trying new things. It’s quite common to use coloured photos together with black and white photos in project life, but not so common in scrapbook pages. I really did want to try it out and I had the perfect pair from a breakfast out earlier this month. My colour photo was predominantly black, white and yellow, so I decided to use that as my colour palette. My style by nature is graphic, so the papers this month just suited me to a tee. In fact, the entire content of the kits and add-ons made me very happy. I knew before I started that I would be using ‘the good life’ stamp for the title and it just so happened that the cute light bulb sticker from the Fortune Teller add-on fit perfectly in the gap. From there, it was a matter of building up the page. I tend to stick to a really simple rule: what you do to the top, you do to the bottom; and what you do to the left, you do to the right – a habit I developed from last year’s Project Life. In the end, all I had to pull from my stash to make this spread was a few enamel dots, the yellow loved banner and a sheet of 6×6 Dear Lizzy, which I fussily cut the flowers out of. Oh, and the Marcy Penner spray paint trick. Can’t forget that. And there you have it, nothing to it at all! Thanks to Studio Calico for letting me hijack the blog for a 3rd time and giving me this sweet prize. I’m off to invest in some wicked printables. Oh, or maybe Maggie’s new class.

Congratulations Aimee! More members added this project to their inspiration books for the week of 7.22 - 7.28 than any other, making it our layout of the week! You have won a $10 gift card to be used on any new purchase at Studio Calico.
