Sunday Sketch | Lory

This week, our layout sketch is an 12x12 layout with a grid design and a vertical title. Our card sketch features a cluster of embellishments and our Project Life sketch uses brads and a title directly on top of a 3x4 photo. Creative Team member, Loredana Bucaria, is joining us this week & sharing her take on all three of our sketches! Be sure to follow Lory here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.

First, let's look at this week's sketches - our 12x12 sketch comes from Nicole Samuel's First Day layout:

Our card sketch comes from Deb Duty's Hello card:

And our Project Life sketch comes from Lisa Truesdell's Rad Handbook spread:

And here's Lory's take on our layout sketch:

I love sketches because they make me fly with the imagination to create a page. Sketches are a perfect point to start a layout, you can rotate them, change them and use them like you desire but the beautiful thing is that you already have all the places where put the right things as journaling, title, pictures, embellishments. I love always to add something mine in a page, so I follow the sketch but I change it a little :) Can't wait to see what you create with these adorable sketches. Have fun!

Supplies: Kits - Walden Scrapbook kit, Pine Hill, Concord; Adhesive - Glue Glider Pro Plus Gun Unit; Ink - Onyx Black Versafine Ink

Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Use the hashtag #SCsketch to make it easier for other members to find! Leave us a link to your project by November 10th in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 GC to the Studio Calico Shop. This week's sketch winner will be announced in the November 14th Layout of the Week post.

I learned a new technique for creating colored leaves. Cut from foil and color with alcohol inks.

I used the layout sketch for one side of a 2-pager. I really loved the way @NicoleS pleated the brown paper, so I attempted that as well. Great way to repurpose the SC bags! http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/143955-just-go-together
