Weekly Challenge | Documenting a Special Occasion

This week, our member Jenny (username Buffyfan), is challenging you to document a special occasion without using themed items - birthdays, holidays, you name it!! Our members are so talented and we love seeing your work in the gallery! Check back each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery. Be sure visit Buffyfan to see more of her work and keep up with her!

I learned many years ago that themed products, while helpful, are also limiting. As a result, I gravitate towards products that can work on both themed and non themed pages. On this page, I wanted to scrapbook about my history with Star Wars films. (Because they are totally cool.) Rather than using Star Wars products or film-related products, I chose various Project Life® cards and chipboard stars that echoed the theme.

My challenge to you: create something themed--a scrapbook page, a card, a Project Life spread--without using themed products. Birthday, baseball, travel, or ballet, create something that echoes the theme without using themed products. I can't wait to see what you create!

Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Jenny's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the SC gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by June 8tht and to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop! This week's challenge winner will be announced in the June 13th Layout of the Week post.

Here is my take on the challenge. I did not use anything fast pitch themed on this Project Life layout, but used stars instead.

Sorry I can't seem to get a good link to the layout, not sure why, but I was able to copy and paste a link to the the photo. Hope that's okay. :-)

Here's my take - I didn't count the color theory label as themed (hope that's ok)

Here's mine: http://www.studiocalico.com/project-folders/7705-carolina-moon (I am having trouble lately too with linking my specific project. Hopefully this is ok. It is the Halloween one called "Farmer and a Cow".)

Congratulations @Buffyfan for being featured here!
