Sunday Sketch | Allison Waken
This week, our layout sketch is a 12x12 layout with a grid of photos and diagonal corner papers. Our card sketch features a horizontal stamped band and simple sentiment, and our Project Life® sketch uses two 3x4 pockets with photos and journaling. Get creative and be sure to share your projects here with us! We can't wait to see what you create! Creative Team member Allison Waken is joining us this week and sharing her take on the scrapbook sketch! Be sure to follow Allison here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.
Our layout sketch comes from Kelly Noel's 2 layout:
Our card sketch comes from Jenn Picard's Thanks card:
Our Project Life® sketch comes from Geralyn Sy's spread:
I love working from sketches! It's such a great way to get the inspiration flowing and can make pulling a creative layout together that much easier. I used Kelly's scrapbook sketch as inspiration for a card in my Project Life album. I loved the rows of squares she had and decided to use those for my title instead of photos (since Project Life pages are usually already full of photos). I love how the title ended up anchoring that right side and really bringing the whole spread together!
Supplies: Oldenburg Add-On Kit (cards, embellishments);Pop Art Project Life Kit (chipboard stickers); Destination Stamp Set by One Little Bird; Pop Art Alpha Digital Stamp Brushes
Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Use the hashtag #SCsketch to make it easier for other members to find! Leave us a link to your project by August 24th in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 GC to the Studio Calico Shop. This week's sketch winner will be announced in the August 29th Layout of the Week post.
Love the unique colors of the Sedona photos.
I used the card sketch as the basis for my layout and cut my photos into circles and placed them across the page.
