Sunday Sketch | Ginny Hughes
This week, our Scrapbook sketch features pretty layers. Our Doumenter sketch uses two cards and our Card sketch features a pretty lollipop embellisment. Get creative and be sure to share your projects here with us! We can't wait to see what you create! Today, Creative Team member Ginny Hughes shares her take on the Scrapbook sketch.
This week, our Scrapbook layout comes from Happy Place by Brooke Takara:
This week, our Documenter layout comes from Bruges by Geralyn Sy:
This week, our card comes from The One With The Lollipops by Carissa Wiley:
I chose to work with the Project Life sketch this week, because I really like the way the photo & title to the side look together. It gave me the chance to play around with some alpha stamps. I stamped directly on white cardstock, but I filled in some of the empty spaces in the letters with patterned paper to give the title some pop. I have a horizontal 8.5x11 canvas to work on, so even though the photo is only 5x7 it looks bigger and has a bigger impact on the layout. I finished up with some stitching and a few tags & embellishments, super easy! I hope you can find some time this week to get crafty. Please don't forget to share your creations with us in the Studio Calico member gallery!
Now it's your turn! Make a project using one of this week's sketches as a starting point, then share it in the Studio Calico gallery. Use the hashtag #SCsketch to make it easier for other members to find! Leave us a link to your project by November 9th in the comments here to be entered to win a $5 gift card to Studio Calico Shop. This week's sketch winner will be announced in the November 14th Layout of the Week post.
Love every little bit of this LO, from the stamped title (and the mega date stamp!!), to the tags and the pops of patterned paper in your letters!

Really beautiful @Ginny, your girls are adorable, and my oldest and youngest girls are the exact same ages! Made my heart ache a little. :) Really cute idea to pop in those patterned papers in the title, especially love that little sailboat popping out of the "d"!

Here's my take on the card sketch. We're using it as a family reminder this month to say our blessings before our complaints. :)
