Tutorial: Using Canyonlands Stamps with Allison Waken
I love using stamps in my projects. It's such an easy way to add a title, some texture or just something extra in my layering! I don't use color too often since I love to let my other supplies be the pops of color so tend to stick towards black or grey stamp ink. That doesn't limit what I can do with stamps in my weekly album though!
For this spread I used a 9"x12" pocket page on one side with a full 9"x12" page on the other documenting my son's 13th birthday. For the full page I focused on one photo we took of the two of us together along with the wooden numbers that came in the Redstone embellishment kit. I made a title with the "celebrate" die and layered it with the photo, some cards and washi tape.
I wanted to leave the numbers 1 and 3 bare but added apattern to it with the new year kick off stamp set. I love how it turned out!
I used stamps throughout the pocket pages for a title and dates. I love how using stamps this way changes up the text and texture of a card without adding any more bulk! Plus, by using a neutral color ink I'm not taking away from the photos or the story, but adding to it!
The end result is a little bit about my week and a lot about my son turning 13 (how did that happen?!)
