Weekly Challenge | juliee
This week, our member Julie (juliee), wants you to create a project using your papercrafting favorites. Our members are so talented and we love seeing your work in the gallery! Check back each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery. Be sure to visit Julie to see more of her work and keep up with her.
Good morning! I am super excited to host this week's challenge. Studio Calico has been a huge part of my crafty life for almost 4 years and has made a huge impact on my scrapbook style. And of course, many of my favorite papers and embellishments come in my happy mail each month.
I chose one of my favorite layouts from 2015 to inspire yours. I used my favorite kit (Canyonlands), my favorite techniques (layers and spatters), a favorite color (gold), and favorite embellishments (wood veneer, that giant tag, and those leaves). So here's my challenge for you - make a project that features your favorites - a technique, a kit, a product or even all three. Make sure you tell us what your "favorite" thing or things on your project are when you share it. I can't wait to see.
Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Julie's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the Studio Calico gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by January 11th to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop! This week's challenge winner will be announced in the January 16th Layout of the Week post.

You are a master at layering, I have learned a great deal from you this past year.
My favorites include using journal cards on layouts, stitching, stamping, cutting paper and scrapping about my grandkids.

Love this layout Julie! I'm inspired by how you used the dark paper in amongst the lighter layers, it really adds something special.

Dear @juliee, thanks for the great challenge. ;-) I used my favourite die cuts and puffy stickers. I was saving them for quite a while for some special project. :D Here comes: http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/181532-one-little-word

@juliee Your layout is spectacular. My favorite items are White/Kraft Cardstock, pattern paper, my favorite kit this year was Brimfield, Wood Veneer and typewriter font. Let me see what I can come up with.

Great challenge! My layout includes photos of three of my favorite things: sunsets, family, and Hawaii. We were in Hawaii six nights, so the layout has every sunset we saw. Using orange and blue - one of my favorite color combinations. Pulled out some of my favorite Basic Grey alphas and used a silver puffy heart - one of my favorite embellishments ever. http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/181603-our-favorite-sunsets

Your page is so good, @juliee --really inspiring, as is the challenge. My page features lots of my favorite, go-to techniques (like stamping and sewing) and elements (kraft, mini flair, enamel dots, etc.): http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/181607-hello-2016

Here's a link to my third installment of the birthday season mini I've been working on. I used lots of favorites here: Lisse street is my favorite past kit (from before I subbed), Elliot is my favorite min album and stickers are by FAR my favorite way to embellish right now. http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/181694-birthday-mini-part-3

My favorites are White/Kraft Cardstock, pattern paper, wood veneer and the Brimfield kit (at the time of the challenge.), but once I started this page I eliminated Brimfield and went with Copper Mountain. I also added stamping and puffy stickers which I love also.

Julie, I love your page and your challenge, favorites are easy, and I have so many! My Arendal kit came on Friday and I made a page with all my faves from the kit, which is also my new fave kit! Here is a link to my project. Thanks so much for the inspiration and the challenge!

I love this challenge, Julie! So many favorites to pick from but a good B-side and transparent gold foiled vellum always make my heart a flutter! http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/181753-go-and-do

I enjoyed this one. My favorite color is green, I love stamping (and gardening), and one of my go-to methods is scrap-lifting. Here's my layout: http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/181767-arbor-day-2015
