Learn more about our March Reveal!

Get cozy with Homespun. Homespun brings with it the coziness of your favorite knitted sweater. This month, brighter hues of yellows, pinks, blues and greens find their place alongside quaint and familiar patterns. Below, take a look at some of the beautiful products that will be offered this month!

Product coordinator Hannah Thiessen helped design the mood board that served as the basis for the March kits! Learn more from Hannah below:

I work as a product coordinator at SC, but I’m also deeply entrenched in the world of yarn and wool. I knit, crochet and spin my own yarns at home (I blog about these pursuits at www.handmadebyhannahbelle.com.) I’m usually found curled up in a chair at home, complete with cat and current project.

Planning kit inspiration is a more complicated process than you think! I got to try my hand at it with the March 2016 kits, and I knew right away that I wanted to incorporate my love of sheep and wool into a kit that would hopefully resonate with those who love texture and color as much as I do. My initial inspiration was full of crewel embroidery, brightly colored crochet motifs and stacks of cozy knitting projects, along with some vintage wool advertising imagery and a big black sheep print. I wanted to feature bright pops of vermilion and orange, alongside greens, grays and neon yellow – colors that make me happy when winter is at its grayest.

I love that Studio Calico stepped in and added a springy, happy, woven textiles vibe to the kit and incorporated more of the baby farm animals that are easily associated with the new growth of spring! The addition of botanical elements to the mix made for some really fun prints and textures. It was so much fun to go back through the finished kits and see what some of the inspiration turned into when applied to product! Certain details, like the hand-written alphabet paper and cards, the woven fabric prints, vibrant vermillion dot paper, patchwork reminiscent stickers and Thank Ewe card really struck home for me, and I think it will be the same for many subscribers who have a deep love of textiles through quilting, knitting, crochet, embroidery or other fabric pursuits!

I feel so honored to have helped with this kit's inspo and I can't wait to see what everyone does with it! I can't believe all the beautiful sneaks already from the Creative Team.

The scrapbook kit looks lovely over all this month but the kit photo appears to have no cardstock, five pieces of 12x12" patterned paper, and one piece of 12x12" patterned paper. Is that an accurate summary of 12x12" papers in this month's kit, or am I missing something? Thanks!

@foucaultgirl I'm pretty sure there are 3 sheets of cardstock in the SB main, 6 patterned papers, and the specialty transparencies. You can't see the cardstock in this photo.

@CristinaC Thanks so much for clarifying that! I'd been excited for the paper patterns from the 6x6 paper pad, and am have my fingers crossed that all those patterns are in the main SB kit, too! :D
