Member Challenge | MariaN

This week, our member Maria (MariaN), wants you to create a layout by making kit contents work for you. Our members are so talented and we love seeing your work in the gallery! Check back each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery. Be sure to visit MariaN to see more of her work and keep up with her.

Hello, everyone! Maria here, and I’m thrilled to bring you this week’s challenge. I love my new Hello Forever planner and playing around with the Savannah planner kit. I’m using the planner for memory-keeping this year and like to incorporate stamps, stickers and painting. From a bullet list of day’s events to my favorite pictures from the week. I also add cards I collect along the way. I use my favorite Color Theory clean slate ink pad for stamping and then have fun painting in the stamps. And I could use a million more of those skinny washi from the Savannah kit and vellum hearts. My challenge to you is to take out your watercolors and have fun painting on your projects. Whether it’s a planner page, a scrapbook layout or a card. Ready, set …. GO! I can’t wait to see what you make.

Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Maria's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the Studio Calico gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by March 21 to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop! This week's challenge winner will be announced in the March 26 Layout of the Week post.

For today's challenge I used watercolors to create a background. When it dried I stamped the sentiment and shapes with versafine black and heat embossed.

I hardly ever use watercolors, but I like how this one turned out - using only red and some water! http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/185967-thinking-of-you
