Tutorial: Using the Homespun Scrapbook Kit with Anna-Maria Wolniak

Another month, another tutorial! This time with the Homespun Scrapbook main kit in the leading role.

The March kit is full of divine exclusive supplies and remarkable patterned papers. Their warm feeling inspired me most. For this tutorial, I collected a few papers, two kinds of transparencies, embellishments, the main stamp and the most important goodie - the exclusive silkscreen, which is definitely my very favourite!

I used a wooden patterned paper as a base for my layout and covered it with a pale, neutral base. I decided to work with layers this time, so all the transparencies and the milky vellum seemed to be perfect for the project and my photos.

When I knew how my basic composition would look, I started playing with the silkscreen. I used a few shades to create these prints: white, gold and Coral Bay acrylic paints.

I mixed the colours so the prints didn't look perfect. It's important to note I was cleaning my silkscreen every time (I use warm water and soap, then I use a hairdryer).

My silkscreen prints are almost invisible, but believe me it makes a difference when I put it all together. Transparent layers create an amazing effect, which looks clean and simple, but when we start analyze them - they are really rich and complicated.

At the end, I made a few more prints on white cardstock (I used them in all my Homespun projects) :) Oh thank you Jasmine Jones for this marvelous design!

When all the silkscreen prints were dry, I glued the rest of the layers, one by one, including vellum - on the top :)

I missed one more print at the top of the layout, but I knew that vellum doesn't like paint at all, so I cut the print which I made earlier on the cardstock.

Last touches - I made two tiny holes and threaded the twine through them as an embellishment.

Using the black alphabet I created a vertical title...

...and made a stamp :)

To finish, I added a few embellishments from the main kit - I couldn't resist, I had to add this rubber chicken :)

For more detailed photos I invite you to the Creative Team Homespun gallery. You will find four more detail shots there if you are interested. Have fun with your silkscreens and other Homespun goodies!
