Member Challenge | Neela

This week, our member Neela (Neela), wants you to make a landscape layout or use an embellishment that makes you create a project in a format that is different than what you are normally used to. Our members are so talented and we love seeing your work in the gallery! Check back each week as we ask one of our members to inspire you with a challenge based on one of their projects from our member gallery. Be sure to visit Neela to see more of her work and keep up with her.

The Film Club Scrapbook kit is one of my favorites over the years. I love the colors, patterns and embellishments in this kit. I had to use the washi tapes and paint brushes immediately. When I measured everything out and decided where to place my embellishments, I realized that I would need to make a landscape layout as I didn't have a printer that printed a size greater than 8.5x11 inches. This resulted in my first ever 9x12 inches landscape layout and I think I will make more of these just to have fun with a different format.

So my challenge for you is to make a landscape layout or use an embellishment that makes you create a project in a format that is different than what you are normally used to! I can't wait to see your beautiful projects in the gallery.

\Now it’s your turn to create a project based on Neela's challenge! Share your new project for the challenge in the Studio Calico gallery (add the hashtag #SCchallenge to make it easier to find!), then link up your project in the comments of this post by April 25 to be entered to win a $5 gift card to the Studio Calico Shop! This week's challenge winner will be announced in the April 30 Layout of the Week post.

Great timing for this challenge! I had just ordered landscape 8.5x11 page sleeves in the last sale. This is my first landscape page in that size, which also allowed me to use the Documenter sketch for this week, spread across the page: http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/187633-here-and-there

I turned a few journal cards sideways to align this photo landscaped.
