This month, get to know Studio Calico member Elizabeth Cooper (ecooper99). Elizabeth is a mom, wife and artist, living in Ontario, Canada. Learn more about Elizabeth and her style below!

I’m Elizabeth, a 30-something mother, artist and crafter living in Ontario, Canada. I’ve been married to my amazing husband, Peter, for 17 years. In January 2014, we welcomed our beautiful baby girl, Kaylee Maria.

I believe scrapbooking is the perfect way to carve out some creative time in the midst of our busy lives, and I love capturing the ordinary moments that make our lives so special. My scrapbooking style varies depending on the story I’m telling, but I’m a storyteller at heart so my layouts are heavy on journaling and photography, sprinkled with embellishments that help make those stories come to life on the page.

You can find me posting process videos exclusively using my Studio Calico kits twice a week on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpwkq3nCIzVnblbRHEtCPLw and showing off Studio Calico-based layouts and Documenter spreads on my blog: http://www.eternallyinspiredmama.com

SC Member since:

I started my Studio Calico subscription in September, 2012 with the Central High kits. At the time, I had signed up for both the Card Kit and the Scrapbook Kit. I added the Documenter Kit (then called the Project Life Kit) in February 2013 - that was the Front Row kit. Since then, I’ve tried every kit type Studio Calico had to offer, and I’ve loved them all! I’m currently blissfully subscribed to the Documenter and the Scrapbook kits.

All-time favorite past kit or collection:

I was head-over-heels in love with Savannah. All those pinks and reds and bits of green and gold made me so happy. And the florals were pure perfection. It had all the things I love: feminine colors, girly patterns, beautiful embellishments. I was so inspired every time I glanced at the Savannah kits, and I ended up doing way more scrapbooking that month than I usually do.

What do you do when your kit comes?

I thank the mailman, since he’s kind enough to bring the package right to my door! Then I set the box aside until I have a chunk of uninterrupted time. (It’s not always so easy to find free time with a 2-year old around.) When I finally get some time to myself, I open the package and film an unboxing video! I never know what’s inside the kits ahead of time. I don’t look at the reveal or any of the previews, because I love being surprised. So that first look at the items in my box is truly a “first” look. It’s all very exciting!

What's your go-to technique?

I’d definitely have to say hand-stitching. I adore the look of stitching on layouts, but my sewing machine and I don’t get along, so I hand-stitch. It’s become a meditative process for me. I put on scrappy YouTube videos and stitch to my heart’s content. It’s such a relaxing process, and I adore the results.

What are your top 5 products?

1. My Studio Calico kits, of course!

2. White embroidery thread.

3. My Silhouette Cameo machine.

4. Alphabet stickers.

5. Punches.

Where do you go when your mojo is low?

The Studio Calico gallery is always my first stop, especially when I have a kit product I’d love to use but I’m not sure how best to make it work for me. The design team is so incredibly talented, and so are all the members. I always walk away inspired and motivated after a good gallery browsing session.
