Tutorial: Using Your Hello Forever Planner for Memory Keeping with Lisa Truesdell

Hi, all! I'm back to share another walk through of a week in my Hello Forever planner. This week involved a trip for work and quite a few photos, and I'll be sharing how I used my Jolly Holiday Documenter and Planner kits to pull the finished spread together.

I started by cropping all of my photos into squares and printing them at 1.5in - this size works well with the sections in the Hello Forever planner. I printed nine photos, but started by arranging just seven of them onto my spread.

I loved the label die cuts that came in both the Planner and Documenter kits, and placed a few of them on my pages.

I love stamping in my planner, and I needed an excuse to use the stamp set that comes with the Summer of Sketches class. I used the grid block on each of the pages, and then added a business card under one of my photos.

I anchored two of my photos with the puffy circles from the planner kit - and you'll see in a later step that I couldn't resist adding a third. I also accented my pages with some phrase stamps from the Summer of Sketches set. To pull the pages together, I've repeated each style of stamp (the grid stamp, script stamps and typed stamps) on each side of my spread.

I jotted down some quick notes to go with each photo. It's been good for me to have to embrace my own handwriting in the planner - when working on layouts or pocket pages, I am far more apt to use my typewriter!

And to finish the spread off, I dipped into my washi tape stash. There is no better way to add a little color & interest without adding bulk, and I've got so many favorite designs from past kits to use up!

That's another week complete! After a few months of memory keeping in a planner, I'm definitely feeling a little more pulled together in terms of style. I love to keep these spreads fairly simple - just my photos, a few words, and my favorite bits and pieces from the kits. I'd love to see your planner spreads - link me up in the comments!

This is beautiful! I love the walkthrough and being able to read/visualize your thought process. I'm really trying to resist jumping into using a memory planner for memory keeping, but you're making it hard.

@brinkleyboy - i print at home. i edit / format in lightroom, and use a canon pixma printer. the print module in lightroom is super easy to use - it makes printing any size + more than one photo on a sheet very simple.
