Using the Sonnet Planner Kit with Jennie McGarvey

There are a few things I am a big fan of when it comes to planning. I like color, being productive and continuous improvement. Let me share with you how I use all three of these this week in my planner.

Color is obvious - you can see that all over this week's layout! I like to stick to a basic color scheme, making sure that the colors work well together and make the week visually appealing. If I'm inspired by the colors, I'm more likely to refer to the planner often and check things off my to-do lists. (And make it to those appointments!)

Being productive is something that we all strive for. One of the things that I've found is imperative for me in being productive is providing all the information necessary. This is true for appointments (making sure I write down all the details) and to-do lists as well. Making sure that I add all of the information to my planner helps me stay on task and arrive to the correct place at the correct time. I know that seems obvious, but sometimes it's easy to leave off a detail thinking you would never forget. But, trust me! It's easy to forget!

The most creative part of planning for me is continuous improvement or evolution. I want to keep trying new things. I want to find new techniques or ways to use products that will work even better!

This is one example of how I changed how I use the products. I had been using (and loving!) the label stickers. However, I had only been using them horizontally. In this instance, a narrow space presented itself, so I turned the labels on their side and the result is fantastic! I love how they fit, but more importantly, how my eye is automatically drawn to the cluster of labels because they are out of the ordinary. This way, I'm sure to remember to check those boxes.

Another technique I tried involved a couple of old favorites paired together - sticky notes and stamps. Why not combine the two that ordinarily stand on their own? This created something that was not only visually pleasing, but also was able to create a header once for two different days. I LOVE this idea, and I will for sure use it again.
