Using the Cypress Grove Scrapbook Kit with Anna-Maria Wolniak

For today's post, I'm going to share a new layout I've prepared using the Cypress Grove kits. For this page, I pulled supplies from all of this month's scrapbook-related kits: the main Cypress Grove Scrapbook Kit and both Add-On Kits, Juniper and Redwood. The stamped elements on my page were created with the stamp set from the main Cypress Grove Scrapbook Kit.

As you can see, I had LOTS of fabulous supplies to work with from these kits - maybe even too many to fit all of these beauties on one layout. In these situations when I want to use all the goodies I love, I almost always decide to create multiple layers for my layout. Working with layers is a great idea for combining various patterns and multiple embellishments.

The photo is layered on top of five different patterned papers, vellum, and various cardstock bits. For the embellishments, you'll see layers including pieces of papers, chipboard shapes, a recycled clothing label (my fav piece!), a transparent frame, stickers and stamps.

One important tip for creating such multilayered compositions is to be sure that all of the layers have something in common. I usually choose papers and embellishments in various shades of one color. Here I grabbed different variations of brown and nudes, with a pop of black and white. There is a very wide palette of natural shades, and most of them are visible in this project.

Some of the embellishments on this page were pre-made, such as stickers, chipboard and the gold star sequins. Other pieces were created using stamps. I stamped the word a few words on a neutral-colored pieces of cardstock and then fussy cut them out, using dimensional foam to adhere the pieces to my layout. I really like the effect!
