Confidant Scrapbook Kit | Catherine Davis

I thought I would share an idea for using the specialty transparencies we include in kits from time to time. For this particular layout, I wanted to utilize the floral design in the main February Confidant Scrapbook kit and the transparent quality of the paper to enhance the design.

I started with a purple sheet of cardstock, as opposed to white, to layer behind the pinks and corals of the floral transparency. I felt like it added to the color on the page. Using Jasmine's February Add-On Poppy Stamp and Color Theory pigment ink, I created a repeating pattern along the right-hand side of my page. I was sure to double up on areas where I already stamped to add a bit of variety to the black tones. I really want them to pop through the transparency.

I layered the transparency and used one of the transparent titles in the kit. I accented with some chipboard banners and made sure to pop up my image with foam dots for even more dimension. I decided to cut the transparency so a bit of the purple cardstock would peek out, to tie into the purple on the chipboard banner.

I hope this was a helpful idea! If you try this and post in the gallery, please tag me so I can check it out. I'm also here to answer any questions you have. Just comment below!

So beautiful! Love the tip about using coloured, rather than white cardstock behind your transparency.
