Sunday Sketch | Juli Maniago

This week, our scrapbook sketch is a 9" x 12" layout with patterned paper layered behind a square photo and a mixed-font title. Our card sketch features a bold sentiment stamped inside a circular element, and our pocket page sketch uses a lightly embellished 4" x 6" photo and a 3" x 4" title card with journaling. Creative Team member Juli Maniago is joining us this week and sharing her take on the week's card sketch! Be sure to follow Juli here at SC to see more of her work and keep up with her.

Our scrapbook sketch comes from Janna Werner's Captured layout:

Our card sketch comes from Carson Riutta's  Wish for Something Good Watercolor Card:

And our pocket page sketch comes from Carson Riutta's  OBX Spread Page 1:

And here's Juli's take on our scrapbook sketch:

I thought this week's scrapbook sketch was perfect to translate to a smaller project. I used the two columns as the two pages in my spread.

I loved how the original sketch had the strips of patterned paper, so I went for a similar look, using the banners from the Confidant Scrapbook Kit and the washi tape from the Planner Kit. Those banners were a perfect embellishment because I didn't want it to look too busy since I was working with a smaller format. The white banners plus the simple text really helped keep the page clean while also mimicking the layering from the original sketch.

I love the look of the majority of the text focused onto the right hand side, so I replicated that on my spread. There are lots of fun text bits in this month's kits, including those awesome puffy stickers by Jasmine Jones. I also cut apart some typography from the Documenter cards and utilized the stamp set.

SUPPLIES: Kits - "Confidant" Documenter Kit, "Confidant" Scrapbook Kit, "Confidant" Planner Kit; Ink - Color Theory Ink Pad (Inky Black)

Why does the "captured" link take you to Juli's page!?

@Joelaw I'm so sorry about that! The link above from @honeykd is correct, and I've updated the link in the post. I apologize for the confusion!

I made a card. I really love this sketch, and it only took about 15 minutes to make.

I liked the long strips and the block title of the scrapbook layout. Modified it to use some washi tape on a 9x12 layout.

I needed another card so I used the card sketch for inspiration for that too.

I used the pocket page sketch (flipped) for the top row of this layout: https://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/200569-the-boss
