April

The need to express myself creatively began at a young age. My sister and I would draw on typing paper, fold it in half, then walk around our family-owned hardware store selling our “greeting cards” for a quarter each. Twenty-five years later, I still love to create. Whether it’s a handmade card, beautiful gift wrap, or a scrapbook page that tells a story for future generations, I absolutely adore the creative process.
Over the years, different aspects of scrapbooking have appealed to me. At first, it was simply documenting my high school memories and memorabilia. In college, it was a blend of documenting and expressing myself through the artistic process. Now, it’s become an outlet for me in many ways: documenting events and funny anecdotes, communicating my feelings and emotions, being a part of a supportive community, and expressing myself through my art.
This ongoing evolution resulted in Studio Calico, a place that I am proud to share with you.
