When you hover over a gallery you'll now see a little thumbs up icon along with a number - click here to say you 'like' a gallery. This is similar to favoriting except that no one else can see what galleries you've liked. It's a way of saying you like a gallery without saying it's the best thing since sliced bread. Although I kind of like bread unsliced - it appeals to my hunter instincts to rip a hunk out of a fresh loaf with my teeth. But I digress.
Like! :) But I tried to like someone's card a minute ago, and it just kept doing the "thinking" thing...never turned to color. Am I just not waiting long enough or something?
ETA: not sure what was happening before, but I went back to the project I was trying to like before and it shows that I like it already. Was more than likely something on my computer's end.
What a great feature...I am wondering though, if it is your own gallery them how can you see how many thumbs up you have? The heart and thumb icon are absent only when I go to my own pages. I think it would be nice to see how many people "like" your gallery.
Yes, Tami, exactly what I went in here to ask. If the people I've liked can't see that I've liked them there's really no point. Also many visitors now only like instead of commenting as the like button has been talked about as a way of "leaving some love" without having to go in and type something. Problem is the love isn't left since it can't be seen. I say remove the thumb or make the number of likes visible to ourselves.
I would actually like for the "like" button to be used as a way for me to bookmark a person's gallery so I can quickly locate their gallery in the future. The galleries I favorite could be accessed from my account. This way, if I click the "thumbs up" on a designer while I'm viewing the SC gallery, they are added to my "gallery favorites". It is hard trying to remember profile names to do a search.
I guess this would be similar to the bookmark a member feature over at 2Peas.
oh I didn't realize the person couldn't see what I've liked. That stinks lol. I feel bad now. I guess it serves me right for being lazy. I liked a ton of layouts this weekend!

For likes, no. That's what favorites is meant for.
You can tell if you've already liked a gallery or not based on the color of the thumb - it will be in color if you've already liked it.
