    Hi, Gals!

Here is the Master List for the new SC Book Club for 2009. Looks like May and December are still up for grabs, so let me know if there are any takers:

April 21st -  Tina C.  Book:  "Hotel on the Corner of Bitter & Sweet" by Jamie Ford

May 19th - Alex Hardy - "Love Walked In" by Maris De Los Santos

June 16th - Emily (onehappymama)  Book:  Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, by Lisa See

July 21st - Scrap Ally - "The Hour I First Believed" by Wally Lamb

August 18th - Nail Girl (hostess) -  "In the Woods" by Tana French

    September 15th - Kimber Leigh

    October 20th- Houston

    November 17th - Mandie Lou

December 15th - Hanna - Book:  "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows

Book club takes place in the SC Chat Room from 6:00 to 7:00 Pacific Time (or 9:00 - 10:00 PM Eastern Time) on the third Tuesday of each month.  The hostess for each month will begin the chat and offer discussion questions.

Reading the books is kinda the idea, but don't worry if you don't/can't read or finish reading the book - we'd love to have you join the chat anyway.

And thanks for making this happen! You gals are da bomb.

Thanks, Alex!  If you want to go ahead and choose your book for May, the rest of us can get a head start on getting the book. At a minimum, please share your book selection with us on our first SC Book Club chat!

I'm off to buy my book now!  Yeehaw!

Hey all!  I've updated the Book Club "Master List". If you could add your book selections for your month to this post that would make it easier for me to keep up. I'm also going to see if I can have this post added as a Sticky.

I am *loving* April's book. Has everyone found it who needs it?

Tina - I think Alexis picked Loved Walked in by Maris De Los Santos for the May read. Just in case anyone is trying to pick up a couple in advance.  Can't believe how close we are to April already.

Well, I've got July's book reserved for me at my local library, but it's not looking good that I'll get a copy in time to participate in July's chat.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed, tho'.

Any ideas on what August's book will be?  Maybe I can get a jump on hunting down a copy of that one!  :)

    Thanks!

Thinking about jumping in for the August book.  Just have to figure out if I can join the chat.  Would also love to know which books from the above list you all have loved.  I am always looking for something to read!!

Hi, I just joined SC and one of the main reasons I chose SC is because of the featured book club! I hope to join in the chat next Tuesday. I'll try to find the August book and begin reading it. The book is "In the Woods," right? Is that the only book you'll be discussing during the month of August?

Is there a link on the message board that explains how to get into the chat? Thanks!

    Hey--

It seems as if the book club has kind of fallen by the way side---

    anyone know what's going on?

yup - I think its fallen off a little, but would love to get it going again. Maybe we can start strong again for Nov. & Dec.? Did we get a decision on Nov's book, I know there were several up for suggestion.

And Tina - thanks for starting the book club. Was a great idea, and I have loved getting introduced to books I might not have read otherwise.
