If you are interested in chosing a book and leading a light discussion about the book, please sign up below. It was suggested in the previous thread that we have the discussion on the 15th of the month, so March 15th would be the first sign up, the April 15th and so on.
I'm interested in joining the book club, but most likely won't be able to lead a discussion. I'd love to read along with all of you. I'm a slow reader, so I don't know if I could finish a book in a month.
this is a great idea! i have a hard time leading book discussions as i have a hard time getting what I think out of my mouth :) but I would love to read along with you ladies. sign me up!
Okay it sounds like a few people are interested in reading at least. Anyone have suggestions for books, for a discussion in April I think since it's almost March?
Suggestions:
11/22/63 (such as awesome book & concept)
The Tiger's Wife
Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption
Room
Discovery of Witches
The History of Love
I've not participated in an online book club before but would be happy to give leading a disvussion a try...
i just started 11/22/63 and just purchased Discover of Witches for my Kindle. I may pop in to check on what is up with the book club periodically. cannot commit to leading a discussion but would like to participate. i always enjoy seeing what others are reading.
Okay let's read discovery of witches for April and 11-22-63 for May. I am waiting on my dad to finish 11-22-63 since we went halves on it, so that it will be my turn to read it, and that will give me and and everyone else a chance to read this LONG one!
I'd be interested in this - so just to clarify, the first book is "Discovery of Witches" and first official sign up for discussion is March 15th? Should we have it already read by then, or is it okay to wait until the 15th to start reading it (i've been sucked in and just bought Hunger Ganes - eager to read that first).
Thanks in advance!
I could use some motivation to get back into reading as well. I used to read a book every week or two before I had kids. I would perhaps be interested in leading a discussion later in the year. I am a little confused though, when should we have the book read for?
March-Discovery of Witches works.
April-Should we break it up into fiction and nonfiction?
I have a TON of books to read, I am sure I could come up with a few, LOL.
Also, Discovery of Witches is a little big. Should we plan on reading part of it by a certain time or all of it by a certain time?
Sorry ladies. I got busy this week and missed the questions. Because both of the books are pretty long let's plan on this:
Let's have Discovery of Witches read by April 15th and I'll post a few questions for discussion and others can add more questions to add to the discussion.
And we can plan on May 15th for 11-22-63.
I was able to pick up Discovery of Witches from the library this week and I can't wait to get started!
I'll jump in on the Stephen King book. I know his son Joe Hill has 2 new books coming out in May. He's an amazing writer, so maybe one of his books during the summer?

I would be interested, but probably because of commitments that would probably be best around April or May,if that's cool?
Yes please :)
I can't commit to leading a discussion, but I did want to pop in here and say that I LOVE that we're doing this. :)

I have the discovery of witches on my bedside table, unfortunately unopened, waiting to be read. So I vote for Discovery of Witches.
I'll read discovery of witches or variant with you guys!
I'd consider the Stephen King one too :D
I'm in the middle of American Gods by Neil Gaiman, I really need to be better about reading fiction. :)

discovery of witches is in at my library! I'm running to get it now.
I already read Variant but I would participate in a conversation, I wouldn't reread it though.

Sounds like a plan. I am really looking forward to this... ; )
I'll have to download discovery of witches on my Kindle. I have been wanting to read that.

Just reading from everyone's responses -- Is this correct:
March book - Discovery of Witches
April book - ??
Is anyone wanting to lead discussion?? :)
