    Thanks for posting this, Nik!

Ok, Everyone.....so we all know how popular washi is right now -- whether you use it or just collect it (hee!) -- so this challenge is gonna be FUN!!! Here's my card....you can see it in the gallery with a close-up too, over here: http://www.studiocalico.com/galleries/54095-a-little-birdie-told-me

Can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge! Pull out that washi and make something beautiful!!! Happy crafting, Girlies!

    Love your card Dawn!

I have a quick question: What if we don't have a die cutting machine? Can we hand cut? :)

  6. Dawn McVey

Of course, Amy!! That'll totally work. The main thing, is just to create a washi covered shape. A die cutting machine just makes it fast and easy. ;)

Or I just also thought of punches! :D Those are a whole lot more like a die cut machine than hand cutting. hehe!

Okay...gave it a try. Will do this again...so easy to do with the washi, was a little nervous cutting it on Silhouette, but did fine. Thanks for the fun challenge, Dawn!

This was fun Dawn! I used the black woodgrain washi and cut out a heart. I like how it turned out!

I've so been wanting to try this technique! I covered some scrap cardstock with black washi and die cut some stars to match the page - you can see the larger one a little closer in the last picture of the gallery (sorry - I can't figure out how to link directly to my individual galleries!)
Bonus - I figured out that Washi tape makes a great layer to help hold down and cover up adhesive that held the lace down! Now I can use lace again!!!! Yay!!!
