My selphy arrived today and I love it already! I have been taking a tonne of pics on my iPhone with Instagram and Hipstamatic and was wondering how you can print them with the selphy and keep them square?
I tried once but it cropped the picture to fill the whole page. Does anyone have any tips or do you just do your instagram on your normal printer?
If you set up a 4x6 canvas in PSE or Photoshop and then pasted the picture into it at it's square size (as long as it's smaller than 4") it should print the image square on a rectangular paper.
manda...i managed to do it using Picasa (i have PSE but need to invest time in learning the program...not there yet)...
i selected 3 instagrams i wanted and created a 4x6 collage with them: one large, two small. i printed as is (no grid lines) but much of the smaller pics were cut off due to the size of selphy prints. so i went back in picasa and changed the collage to add white gridlines, which made the pictures smaller but they all fit within the tear edges of the selphy.
Yes, was going to say you choose to print with a border...that way it doesn't crop the photo to fill the page. It will be smaller than 4x4, but I prefer that than not having my Instagram photos at all!
I think you can use bluetooth w/ it, does that connect to a phone? i am sooo not tech savvy! i have heard other people say that it won't print from an iphone though. hope that helps a bit!
Look for an app. I don't have the selphy, but I have a new cannon printer and my iPhone app is called Cannon iEPP, (Easy Photo Print). AMAZING!!! And yep, pick bordered for any edited prints to retain sizes and frames, etc. I've noticed all of my 4x6 pics lose some off the left and bottom, so I rarely print non-bordered unless I know I don't need the outer edges.
I would just like to say that I love SC.

what about if you put them onto a 4x6 canvas but kept them square and smaller - would that work?
I don't have PSE at the moment but that will be here soon and I think that will be the way to go.
you have to print it with a border. it does make it a bit smaller, but at least you get the whole pic.

There is no app for the Selphy yet....
I take a ton of iPhone pics, sometimes I make a collage using the Diptic app.
I plug the iphone into the laptop (PC, not a Mac)
I plug a flash USB drive in
I move the pics from my phone, to the flash drive
Plug the flash drive into the Selphy and print.
It looks like a lot of steps, but it only takes a few minutes.
I have not bought the bluetooth adapter for the Selphy yet, simply because I'm holding out for an App.
I would just like to say that I love SC.

I print on an older selphy es20. I will get mine fixed in the image browser- option: photo layout and drag it to the size I want.
You can order your pics directly with the PostalPix app...it's free and is awesome. It even works with all of the iPhone camera apps.
I am curious, though because i have a selphy that will print square photos. I'm wondering what the difference is.
