Hello! I just got my first CK call! Yes, I am so shocked and excited!
I don't have anymore of the SC or any other 12 x 12 boxes to send the LO in right now. So I need suggestions or advice as to how you send your LOs? I did get large bubble envelopes. I thought maybe I could put the LO in a 2 gallon baggie, and put it in the envelope with cardboard. But CK did say to put it in a sturdy box. Any ideas? Have you been able to find boxes large enough, but not too large to use?
I wouldn't send it in anything else than a pizza box. Maybe you can go to your local pizzeria and ask for a box? That's what I would do. Congrats on your first CK pub!
don't use an envelope! i recently got a layout returned in an envelope (i mailed it in a box and the company returned it in an envelope) maked 'do not bend' and it was completely ruined. i was so mad i threw it away :(
Congrats! totally use the priority by weight boxes :) perfect fit! just bring a little news paper to crinkle and fill it up with.
and awe-man, Waleska! that stinks. I am surprised that they (whoever it was) didn't know what would happen! oye.
I'm another one who uses priority boxes. I just grab a bunch from the post office and keep them on hand.
Ugh! Why would they have sent it back in an envelope, Walesk? That doesn't seem to smart.
Congratulations! Add me to the priority box list. :) I actually get on the USPS website and order a box of 25, and my post lady delivers them to me. I need to get a scale to determine weight so I can set up to ship from home too. my biggest challenge in crafting and submitting for publication is DEFINITELY the forms and mailing the dang layout in. I fail allllll the time in doing that in a timely and organized manner.
And thanks for the priority box advice. For some reason, I could only find the flat rate. So when I saw the regular ones today, I grabbed a few...worked like a charm.
Davinie, definitely get a scale. We have one because of our small business. It didn't cost a lot...just got it at Office Depot. I can calculate the weight, sign in on the PO site, and pay and print out a mailing label. All I have to do is drop the box off. You can have the mail carrier pick it up...I just feel better dropping it off myself. Saves you tons of time and so easy...also a couple of dollars cheaper that way too. So well worth it.
Congrats. I use priority boxes too for layouts. For cards, I just use a small box I have around the house. I think some folks send cards in padded envelopes with cardboard inside. That would probably work, but I thnk a box is safer.
Congrats! A box, the layout in a page protector with a piece of cardboard, and I ball up some plastic bags or newsprint to keep the layout from shifting in the box...
