so... i grew up watching facts of life... if you're old enough, you remember, right?
well i heard lisa on the radio talking about her faith and other life stories... and she brought up a funny story about scrapbooking.
she was at an SB convention when she got a frantic call from her daughter... her husband had fallen from the roof taking down christmas lights... and paramedics where everywhere.
so, she rushed home... the paramedics told her he was OK and he was going to live. no spinal damage... but he did have a broken leg... maybe arm?.. i don't remember that.
but... what did she do? grabbed her camera... and took pictures of the paramedics cutting his pants... to set the break. what did the paramedic say? "scrapbooker, huh?"
she did question that later... but her talk was so honest and authentic. about life as a child actor, weight issues... and of course SB. glad i was able to hear her.
anyway... i think we can all relate to that in some way? right?! :)
Yep, loved that show. My sister WAS Jo. Not IRL, but she was exactly like her and I always felt like I got an inside look into who Kim was because Jo would show me on the Facts of Life. LOL.
Loved that show!!! Thanks for the story Joann - wish I heard her .....the paramedic sbooker part is hilarious and something I may or may not have been guilty of doing!!!
late last year when i took my oldest to have stitches taken out of his face (long story) he sat there and said to the nurse unprompted can you please put them in a container mum may want them for a layout!! i just about wet myself laughing!!! he was nearly 16 :0) needless to say the nurse burst out laughing and replyed arhhh to me your a scrapbooker!!!
lol that is funny! Just last night we were watching the news, and they were talking to someone about the nursing polls that were going on here last night, and behind them I saw someone whip out a camera, take a few photo's of all the lines of people voting and then quickly tuck it back in her purse. I looked at Mike and said - hey there's a scrapbooker! lol! We are everywhere!

The
Facts of Life
You take
the good,
You take the bad,
You take them both and there you have the facts of life.
The facts of life.
There's a time you gotta go and show
You're growin' now,
You know about the facts of life.
The facts of life.
When the world never seems,
To be living up to your dreams.
And suddenly you're finding out,
The facts of life are all about you.
All about you.
You-u-u-u,
A-ll about you.
It takes a lot to get em right,
But you're learnin the facts of life.
Learnin the facts of life.
Learnin the facts of life.
Learnin the facts of li-fe.

why don't they show reruns of that show? they seem to rerun every other popular show that was made in the 80's.
That was one of my favorite shows! I always loved Jo :)

Funny story, Joanne! I wanted her hair, too, and wished I could roller skate like Tootie. Remember George Clooney on the show? HA! Niiiiice.

Loved The Facts of Life. Cute story.
Ok - the funniest part of this story to me is the paramedic actually identifying her as a scrapbooker - we are a crazy lot, aren't we?
