My 76 year old mother in law wants a photo editing program to do basic stuff-brighten, lighten, crop, maybe add text to a photo. She had PSE but had her computer redone and lost the program. I tried to show her some stuff in there but honestly I think it was more than she really wanted. She asked if she should get it again (I'm her IT department except for the technical stuff). Is there another program that's user friendly and cheaper? Picassa? I use PSE so I don't know about other programs.
PicMonkey is what I use now that Picnik has closed. It seems to work well, but you could also try just the basic editing software that comes with iPhoto (if she has a mac?) or the most basic Adobe.
Picasa is really simple to use.... and free. :) it has an "i'm feeling lucky" option that is a one click photo fix... it usually turns out pretty good. (i have pse but still use picasa to do really quick or simple things)

I use Picasa and a fairly new site called PicMonkey. Both are free and super easy to use. Lots of fun features on both!
PicMonkey looks fun! I will share that with her and might try it myself! Thanks for sharing Ginny

I agree Picasa is very user friendly and is free as well.
I'm so glad I saw this thread because I could seriously benefit from a very simple photo editing system. =)
