I had a very sad - long week, my childhood friend, Tammy, passed away on Wednesday. She had 30 years and TODAY it was her 31st birthday. She fought like a warrior but lost her battle against cancer.

today , I received my 11 pounds brown box and what a BIG and NICE surprise in it: my favorite Mr Huey color : DEWEY!!!!!

Thank you thank you SC for your kindness, I promise to do a lot with it. You made my day :)

I am so so sorry to hear about your friend, two of mine passed away about 7 and 10 years ago and it was just awful (both committed suicide so was obviously different than your poor friend but it was hard none the less)

Sorry for your loss, my uncle is in the hospital with lung cancer no hope they are just trying to keep him comfortable, my mom is very upset so just trying to be there for her. How awesome is SC that's why I love it here!

I'm sad to hear about your friend, but I'm glad that SC did something to cheer you up. Those girls are saweet.

So very sorry for losing your dear friend. Too many good people dying all too young! My heart is right there with you, breaking alongside yours. Truly. I've been and still am there right now.

This weekend is my niece's high school graduation. Her momma will not be there to watch her accept her diploma. Her momma (my sister) was diagnosed with leukemia last year and beat it, only to contract pneumonia and die four days after her receiving a cancer-free diagnosis. From the time of diagnosis (Valentine's Day) to the time of her passing; five weeks.
It's still raw.
It still seems so just yesterday and at the same time sooo long ago.
It's still raw especially since it's the first time I have been back to her home (my parents bought it so that my sister's kids could still live in it and not lose everything they knew as "normal" all at once) since her funeral.

I will...
sleep in her bed
love on her pets
LOVE on her kiddos.

I will...
carry her with me in my heart and do everything in my power to make her daughter's day as special and memorable and happy for her as humanly possible.

I pray for peace and strength for you to be able to do the same. My heart goes out to you and to all of the other loved ones she left behind.
