goodness! That's kind of cool, though, because now you have a great opportunity to sort them out into proper albums. I have a small pile of finished layouts due for albums, definitely less than 10 pages, but my albums have no rhyme or reason, and are basically nothing but sheet protectors. You can turn that pile into some really nice scrapbooks, and that's really cool. :)
Wow, that's an impressive stack! I always put my layouts into page protectors and albums, but they are just in the order that I completed them. No organization whatsoever, so I'll need to take them all apart one day.
I hope that you have a great day organizing them into their new albums. It should be a lot of fun just looking through them!
Well, it looks like the ones in the box are organized (I see the little tabs sticking up)! Good luck, and let us know how macy albums they end up filling!
Mine are in albums, and only a few albums are somewhat organized. I don't scrap in any order, and that's how they are going in my albums. I like it that way, less predictable, and I like mixing times and events in the same album.
I have the same piles! But I just bought a bunch of albums and page protectors from my LSS (going out of business - boohoo!) so I'm hoping to tackle the piles sometime soon.
I have some page protectors but obviously am going to need some more!
My pages go into specific albums in a vaguely chorno order... I don't scrap in order but in general I am working on 2010/2011 now...
Album types (obviously these encompass several albums for some of them)
*One per kid -- each kid's personal stuff -- wrestling layouts, karate layouts, school related stuff, etc.
*Scout albums - one cub scout, one boy scout, one Eagle scout (per kid)
*Vacations -- I like separate albums for each of our big vacations
*Christmas
*Halloween
*One Family album - where everything that doesn't go in a kid album goes
*Project 12
I put them in a box and when that box gets full I am literally forced to put them in the album as my scrap room has nowhere to grow. It kind of forces me to get them in the album!
Merrick - I have roughly the same kind of quasi-organization for my albums - I have one for the daughter, the son, everyday life, Easter, and Project Life out getting layouts right now. When I'm done with the seasonal ones for the year, I put them back on the shelf until next year.
I have the same problem with them piling up, though! Somehow filing pages into album is just not as fun as making the pages! I just don't know why?! ;) Plus, I am a total bum about not buying albums until I REALLY need to - probably because they are way more expensive to purchase a bunch at a time!
I don't know what kind of albums you use, but I buy mine at M's for $12 whenI have a 40% off coupon. I use the cloth 12x12 3 ring binders by AC. Black for Family, Red for DS#1 and Brown for DS#2. If i ever have another kid I'll be in trouble, because I think they only carry those 3 colors.
EVERY one of these is a finished page that needs a home in an album.
Years worth.
There are probably HUNDREDS of pages here.
Haha, I've been there too, although on a smaller scale. Order a couple AC albums, extra page protectors, and get crackin'!
Good luck!!
I have some albums sitting aside .... I will be sorting into appropriate albums today. While watching a movie, probably.
I am guilty of this as well. I have to put away my layouts as well.
I am guilty as well! I *almost* put them away when we moved but instead I just moved them in a box.
I will become guilty soon if I do not order more albums and pages lol!
Been there too and still am there! lol
I have the same problem! I have a whole entire dresser filled with my layouts! And a huge box full to overflowing too!

Good Luck!! I have a stack too, and I'm not nearly brave enough to tackle it yet!

i have at least that many, too. EEEK.

i feel your pain. i just wish i had that many to show for it :)
I am the same!!!
I have a similar stash building. I don't know why it is so hard to actually put them up once I scrap them.
I put them in a box and when that box gets full I am literally forced to put them in the album as my scrap room has nowhere to grow. It kind of forces me to get them in the album!

I would have been right there with you had I not spent a good 3 hours or so putting my stack into albums last week! And yes - a good movie helps!
OK Girls, are you ready?
I've sorted them and counted them and the grand total of pages in that pile???
537.
I think I might have page protectors for 100.
Valerie -- my weakness is I hate buying albums and page protectors! How much cute scrappy stuff could I buy with that $$?
