I'm fairly new to papercrafting, and would like to get a lot of practice and learn techniques for rubber stamping. I found SC too late to sign up for Summer Stamp School (so sad!).
Does anyone have any other recos for online classes, local classes (Seattle area), or books/workbooks that would be useful? I need something structured, with lots of examples and pictures :)
Honestly, I have learned more on you tube than anywhere else! On you tube, just search 'stamping techniques' or 'stamping tutorials' and see what all you find!
i don't know of any classes either, but i just learned through trial and error. and asking questions here, there are lots of expert stampers that hang around the message boards. i also got the stamp press that they sell here in the shop and let me tell you that thing really works!!
check out onlinecardclasses.com
I have taken two classes there and they were both FULL of tips, techniques, videos, examples and PDFs. I learned ALOT!
It is geared for card makers but the techniques can easily applied to layouts.
May Flaum has some videos on her blog. She's doing a "Scrap Camp" this summer, a free online class. You might enjoy perusing her site. http://mayflaum.com/
In Seattle, Impress Rubber Stamps holds classes at its various locations. Also, A Muse (Greenwood) has make and takes every week and may still have classes.
awesome, thanks everyone! @djuna - I've taken some classes at Impress but they seem mostly project-focused rather than techniques. They do have a Stamping 101 coming up, though unfortunately, it's right about the time when my baby is due :P

Kristina Werner (kwernerdesign.com) does 2 card making videos a week, almost all of which include some kind of stamping. :)

Two peas in a bucket had stamping lessons free a year ago. Check there under classes. That's how I learned a LOT.
Last year I took an online class by Jennifer McGuire and we made this project that functions as an inspiration board. http://picsandcheesecake.blogspot.nl/2011/10/canvas-project.html
Every heart is a different stamping technique. The class is still available: http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/inspirationshowcase/classinfo/
I really liked this class!
I would also recommend Jennifer McGuire. She is a talented experienced stamper and her videos might be helpful. I think you can find them on her blog:

Also the Hero Arts channel on YouTube has lots of videos and some of these demonstrate stamping techniques.

Welcome to the world of stamping! It's so much fun!!!
