So I have been writing a fashion blog for the past few years (took that up while I was on my scrapping break) and in the fashion world the Pantone color of the year is a big deal. This year it's Emerald Green. Do you think it will translate over into the scrap world much too? Fashion seems to parallel everything from home decor to crafting these days!

I hope so! I've always been obsessed with emerald. In fact, this year my oldest graduates from college and I am getting her an emerald ring- I'm going to do that for each of my girls when the time comes.
It's such a staple of mine in clothing. I think it goes with everything and is my favorite neutral. Some years it's harder to find than others. This year Boden came out with the best ever emerald green cardigan :) Finally!!
So yes, I do think it will translate. And I'm not surprised it's an up and coming color. So tell us more- what else is up and coming? I love this stuff....

I do think it does to a certain extent. I am a big fan of that color, so I hope to see more of it!

Ooh! Thanks for posting that. I hadn't heard this year's color yet. I bet it will leak into the scrapbooking world. Maybe we'll see a lot more of it in next year's fall & winter lines?

For sure!! I was at the Milan Furniture/ housewares trade show this year and I see a lot of the trends, colours, textures and ideas already being translated into scrapping stuff! Emerald was big in the furniture design world at the show as well...

I'm sure it will. I used to be in the furniture industry and it always translated over to home as well.

i've paid attention to the pantone colors of the year for the past couple years, and i don't feel like we ever see a total influx of the color into the scrapbook world the way you see in the fashion world. but i'm sure there is a small amount of influence. i think it's just that you don't really use a "statement color" the same way you might in fashion or home design. but i could be way wrong too. hehe.

I agree with Amy Christine...turquoise was the color for 2010 and I feel like it's gotten pretty big, but other than that...

And sorry, but I'm not a huge fan. :P

i saw the green and was like.. arghhhhh!!! i don't wear green well.. guess i'll stick with my black and gray this year. LOL. anyway.. not as if Im a huge fashionista.. i hate shopping and what i have is usually not 'so in trend' .. pretty much timeless. Silver and clear crystals are pretty much my thing right now.. maybe i'll go find an emerald pendant and ring to add to my collection but other than that.. nope, don't see myself going goo goo gaa gaa over emerald :D it'a pretty color.. just not for me.

    Ahh, thanks scrapally! =)

I think the colors chosen in past year have definitely found their way in to the scrapping world and would guess Emerald green would have a break-in as well...I'd love it! =)
