My daughter is a Senior in high school. Academics have never been her strong area (she has a learning disability that makes testing and memory skills really hard) however, she has always loved school. She is a social butterfly and has tons of friends. With her learning disability most classes are hard for her but she found her niche in being creative. She is a great photographer and has actually won some awards in local photography contests. Her photography instructor at school really encouraged her. Well, today, he very suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. He collapsed at school and passed away later at the hospital. My daughter and I are both devastated. He was so good to Madeleine (and to all his students). She took every class she could with him. He was one of those great teachers that everyone liked. Always a positive attitude. Great sense of humor. I can't say enough good things about him. I'm surprised by how hard this has hit me (although I probably shouldn't be--we absolutely adored him). Can't seem to stop crying tonight.
And just to top things off...we are suppose to have a huge snow storm this weekend. It's been raining and very dreary all day. Maybe that has added to my blue mood.
Sorry to ramble on. I'm not typically one to share these kinds of things but just felt I needed to get it all out. Thanks for listening.
Be at peace Mr. C.
So sorry to hear this news Nancy. Make sure to continue encouraging your daughter to pursue something that she obviously enjoys & is good at. I think that would be a great way to honor him.
Thanks for all the kind words ladies. My heart just aches for his wife (also a teacher) and family.
I think Madeleine's next photography contest entry will be dedicated to Mr. C.
Thank you everyone. We are doing a little better today. I really appreciate all your kind words.
That snow storm did make it here. Man alive! We have over 12 inches now and it's still snowing. I think we're predicted to get another 3-5 inches. It is a good time to do some scrapping and to think happy thoughts about how lucky Madeleine was to have had such a great teacher and wonderful influence in her life.
