I've been in hospital since Friday night with a severe case of pancreatitis and now waiting for them to take my gall bladder out. I've never been in this much pain before (yes I would rather be giving birth!) and I'm feeling down and out. Being a single mum who has never spent one night away from her daughter is also taking it's toll on me :( I think theworst part is not knowing ...like whenwill this pain will go away? When will they operate? How long do I need to recover?
I know there are millions of people who are worse off than me but if you can spare a good thought for me it would be much appreciated :)
Aww lots of prayers for you! My neighbor just had a similar experience and she was feeling much better just a couple of days after they removed hers. Hopefully your experience is similar. Big hugs!!!
I had gallbladder attacks for about a year before they finally took it out. When they took it out, the surgery was a day surgery and it wasn't too bad at all. I was back in the hospital within 2 days because a stone made its way into one of the liver ducts. Gallbladder pain is the worst pain that I have ever felt!! But as soon as my gallbladder was gone, and they got that final stone out, it was like night and day. The only problem I had was that I could hardly eat before the surgery because I was so sick, so afterwards I went on a See Food diet, and shoved as much junk as I could into my mouth, thus gaining all the weight back I lost from being sick. All I can say is I am sure you will feel much better once the surgery is over. If they are able to take it out laprascopically (through 4 tiny holes with a camera) then the recovery will be very short.
I am sorry you have to go through this, and I totally understand your pain. Your daughter will be ok, and hopefully you will be home with her in no time.
Also, I have to say, I am surprised you are able to type or even read, I was on so many drugs I couldn't even see straight.
Sending all my positive thoughts your way. I am sure your daughter will be thrilled when you are pain free and well again. I hope your recovery time is super short and you are feeling better ASAP.
I'm sorry you are going through this and I am sending good thoughts your way! I've heard gall bladder pain is excrutiating and I hope you get your surgery soon!
I'm so sorry to hear this Jen. I had my Gall Bladder taken out about 15 years ago. I do remember how painful it was, but I didn't have pancreatitis. From what I've heard, that is about the worst pain imaginable. I really feel for you. I only had an overnight stay in hospital & the recovery wasn't really all that long at all.
Here's wishing you firstly, some speedy surgery & secondly a speedy recovery.
aww sorry you have to go through that. You're in my thoughts! My mom had gangrene in her gall bladder a few years ago... she was so close to death and we had no idea! But the pain became so bad we had to rush her to the hospital and, luckily, they caught it in time. But she is doing great now! Wishing you a quick recovery!
I had mine out a while ago now very painful but once its gone go easy on the dairy food and acidy stuff can have a nasty effect later....
It does settle down hope it all over soon
