and completed it with no walking or stopping. But it was hard!
The running part wan't bad, but it was 34 degrees, with 30 mile an hour head winds the entire way - and snow flurries about 75% of the time. Asbolutely not the best running conditions possible. It was almost comical because I can't imagine anything worse weather wise.
I did finish 15 minutes ahead of what I anticipated, and if the wind weren't against us the whole way I'm certain everybody would have had better times than they did this day.
My husband said my son (12) kept saying: "This is going to be the end of Momma's running career - poor momma." Honestly, it is not the end of my running career, but training for the race was much more enjoyable than the race itself.
All in all, I fell like I accomplished a lot and I have no regrets. And really, I'm feeling pretty darn good today, not super stiff or hurting in any way.
And I'm looking for another race to train for - looking forward to running on a better weather day.
Wow, what an experience! I'm so glad to hear that you made it--I was thinking of you yesterday. So funny, since it's incredibly hot here. Wish we could compromise our weather conditions a bit, to create perfect running weather!
