Or things you wished you knew or that someone had told you when you got yours? I got mine yesterday and am absolutely loving it. My birthday isn't until next month, but we will be going on vacay in two weeks so my sweet husband wanted me to have it and be able to get used to everything so that I can enjoy it on our trip. For me, this is such a great fit for everything I need or want. I will be using my old laptop (given to my dd) for photos and such so I'm not so concerned about that. Thx for any and all advice. Oh! Where do you find the neatest covers/cases?
Thx ladies....I have the new ipad in white 32G....my kids are all teens and have their own gadgets and therefore don't need mine. :) I just got a light blue pleather cover and I did order a screen protector, but may or may not use it....My scrap room is white, black and tiffany blue, so this looked very close to the color...will look pretty as I'm looking at the galleries and pdfs while scrapping. I'm so in love with it! I looked on pinterest and saw some hand sewn ones that I may attempt when the kids are back in school...or not....my life is getting busier every day and I don't seem to have even time to visit the SC boards as often as I'd like!
I still haven't found a cover I love yet. We have a screen protector on ours. The package said "used and approved by the military". I had pictures of an iPad in a bunker in Afghanistan, should be durable. My 8 yo managed to scratch it all to hell slicing fruit! Hah.
I'll have to shop for a new protector and find a cover. I really want to see it in person vs. buying it online though.
@Debbie, let me know what you find...I went to 5 stores yesterday and that was my limit! The ones I saw IRL were just too pricey to justify for me...I didn't like them that much and they were all 30 and up. I actually hate shopping...ha... I read alot of reviews for the one I got that were favorable, so I'm hoping is ok. It's the slim version and it was only 19.95..a better price point for me. I'm not that picky, I mainly just want it covered up for when not in use. I have a cat that will probably try to sit on it at some point and I don't want his little paws scratching it up. As to the used in the military....didn't see that....amazing little machine it must be to go through that and still work! I'm trying to figure out how he sliced fruit near on or it?
I have a gumdrop cover- it is a bit heavy, but my ipad is safe and sound and since I scratched my phone the day I got it, I wanted the best protection I could get.
I would say just get the latest model. I actually have the first one out- and I do love it! very useful! But the new ones have more features, of course, so I would def. go for that. I was surprised I just went on a trip overseas and tons of people used them for photo taking. It seemed a bit cumbersome to me but one couple I spoke to said it took awesome photos.
I have the smart cover but don't like it, we got it for free so I don't feel bad about using it. I got this cover on Etsy that I love... I wanted something that was more "me" than just a plain 'ole case:

No one? nothing? Guess I'll just get the plain white one I have in my cart on overstock...simple but sweet.
I have the black, 64g, wi-Fi version. I have an 8 yo and the white would show too much dirt for me.
I have a Maroo Koe II. I like the bumpers on it.
I have a black new iPad and I love it. I don't use a screen protector on it and it wipes just fine. It's very durable.
I love my iPad. I just don't like it when I visit websites that are only flash enabled.

i have a smart cover + a speck clear case on the back, and a speck screen protector. so far so good. =)
