I'm getting an iPad this week for my birthday (YAY!) and I need some app suggestions that are must haves...I have an iPhone but my mom was telling me that she has different apps for both because some things are just better on the iPad. So what are your faves?

Also, any recommendations for covers/accessories/doo dads? TIA! :)

The one thing I find that's great about the ipad is you need less apps because using Safsri to browse sites is much easier than on a phone. That being said I like Blogsy for blogging on the go, Skitch for note taking, Netflix for watching on demand movies, MobileRSS for blog reading. I would also suggest a stylus for note taking and for some games (like Draw Something). Apple also sells an adapter so you can read your camera SD cards to upload photos. It also comes with a USB connection. I always travel with them and they come in handy if you want to get photos from your camera to add to Facebook or upload on your blog. Enjoy your new toy, they are awesome!

I love the HBOGo app & MaxGo. And my boys watch Cartoon Network on my iPad sometimes. Flipboard for the iPad is GREAT. I have Sketchbook Pro for drawing & writing. I use Dropbox for Sharing files across all my devices and my PC.

Oh, get a scratch protector for your screen ASAP! All the brands seem the same to me?

I read books on the iPad so iBooks (it comes pre installed) is essential. Draw Something is just not possible for me on the iPhone but a dream for the boy and I on the iPad. I bought the SD reader/adapter for my iPad at Sam's Club. So if you have a membership, go get it immediately. It's my favorite accessory and I use it all the time. It basically makes transferring photos from your camera to your iPad easier than opening the fridge for a snack. I bought iPhoto for the iPad and I'm undecided on if it's essential or not. If you don't have a wireless printer you'll want to get one. I print photos and regular stuff directly from the iPad all the time. Twitter app for me, People magazine, Flickr, Pinterest, and just because it's cool I bought QlockTwo. It's a reading clock that works when I plug the iPad into my nightstand charger. If you need kids game for Bri, let me know. Wyatt has a ton loaded up and he plays constantly.

@kins, Fruit Ninja, Finger Balance, Temple Run, Monster Ate My Homework and Disney XD to watch oodles of programs. We went through a phase of Plants vs. Zombies and Angry Birds but it's run it's course.

Yay! You'll wonder what you ever did without one! I don't have a wireless printer, but I installed air print activator on my MacBook Pro. All you have to do to print wirelessly from the iPad is to make sure your computer is hooked up to your printer and that they're both on.

Dont get the Pages, Numbers, or Keynote... The iPad versions of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpont.
Instead try Office2 HD. $8 US instead of $30 for the 3 progrmas. Office2 has all thee for one price!

    Adobe photoshop express is free!

Evernote is completely wonderful for notes and you can sync accounts with PCs also such as at work.

    Happy Birthday!
