Emily Pitts
Emily Pitts lives in Denver, Colorado with her very photogenic and incredible husband, Kelly, her stunningly beautiful daughter, Annie, and her often less-than-willing-but-super-cute-model son, Ethan. Having wanted to be a school bulletin board designer as a child, and discovering that no such employment existed, Emily was thrilled to discover how far scrapbooking had come since the teddy bear and balloon shaped photos of the mid 90s. The best compliment Emily ever received about her scrapbooking style happened when a friend introduced her as an “everyday kind of scrapper.” She realized that her goal of recording the day to day had been accomplished, and she feels very blessed to have scrapbooking as a means of telling the story.
Emily tries really hard to balance her desire to scrapbook all the time against the other demands on her time; teaching piano, walking on her treadmill, serving in her church, volunteering at school, helping kids with homework, shuttling children from here to there, cleaning the house, keeping food in the cupboards, and cooking gourmet meals. Often the gourmet meals suffer.
Emily has had her work published by Creating Keepsakes, Simple Scrapbooks and Scrapbook Trends. She currently designs for October Afternoon and her local scrapbook store, Scrapbook Destination.
According to Emily:
I can't imagine my life without…
my flat iron. I wanted straight hair in high school so badly. Having the requisite 80’s perm didn’t help much. I have a natural wave to my hair, but it’s not a consistent thing. I have to work pretty hard to get it to go either way.
I would love to win a shopping spree to…
crate & barrel.
I was most embarrassed when…
Laura Kurz knew who I was and I had to ask what her name was. She’s only one of my favorite scrappers ever.
If I could be anywhere, I'd be…
on the beach in Washington State.
If I could be on any tv game or reality show, it would be…
What Not to Wear. A $5000 shopping spree in New York with Clinton and Stacey, I’d be in heaven.
My guilty pleasure is…
mint Milano cookies from Pepperidge Farm.
You would never guess it, but…
I am a neat freak. I hide it very well underneath all the piles in my house. But when I go to the store, I’ll rearrange the items on the shelves to look “stocked.” And when I do decide to clean my house, I deep clean.
