Rebecca Trump from Brownwood, Texas
Growing up, I loved my 110 film camera. It was so exciting to me to develop a roll and see what kind of shots I got. I would photograph everything from dolls, to landscapes, to action shots caught at Six Flags! Art was also one of my most favorite things. I loved the supplies. Pens, markers, paper, stickies – and especially the smell of a new box of crayons! It’s no surprise that once I heard about scrapbooking – and the amount of supplies it entailed, that I fell in love. The two passions of my childhood – photographs and art supplies – molded into one hobby. Since that summer, I truly feel that this hobby will forever be a part of my life.
In the beginning, I was an avid submitter for calls to publishers. The first time I got a call it was from Creating Keepsakes, and I felt like I had won the lottery. Since that first call, you find some of my scrapbook pages in Scrapbook Trends, Memory Makers, Cards magazine, and Better Homes and Gardens Scrapbooks, Etc. Lately, I have been creating mostly for the two design teams that I am on: Fontwerks and Twopeasinabucket.com. I enjoy being able to create and share my work – that is what I love most about this hobby. The sharing is just such a great phenomenon.
In my daily life, I am a pretty average girl. I teach art at a small 2A high school. I enjoy working – but always wish that I could stay at home and create all day. Since that is not feasible, I instead try to incorporate my love for art supplies and scrapbooking into my lesson plans. I am married to my college sweetheart, Adam. He likes to brag that it’s his face that usually gets published. LOL! We live in my hometown of Brownwood, Texas. Currently, we do not have any children, but do want kids at some point. For now, we are enjoying the first few years of marriage – and that alone is plenty of scrapbook material!
According to Rebecca:
When I was a child… I would dress up my Barbie dolls, strategically place them in the Barbie house like they were having a party, and take photographs of them. I loved my 110 film LeClick camera!
I can’t imagine my life without… my family.
I would love to win a shopping spree to… Pottery Barn for home stuff. Anthropologie for clothes.
My least favorite chore is… sweeping. I hate cleaning floors.
If I could be on any tv game or reality show, it would be… Real World – I always try to imagine how I would act if I were on camera 24/7.
My guilty pleasure is… anything Little Debbie, Hostess, or Dollie Madison (the cherry rolls are to die for!) :0)
I thought I would never… be a teacher, like my mom. Never say never, right?!
