Maria Grace Abuzman from San Francisco, California
Grace considers herself a story-teller of the old school. She just shares her stories in a very new-school way: through her scrapbook pages and art journals.
A bits & pieces collector all her life, Grace came into modern scrapbooking in early 2005. Since then, she has been published in Creating Keepsakes, Simple Scrapbooks, and Scrapbooks Etc., as well as many international publications, and in the Autumn Leaves “Designing With” series. Grace has taught
classes in the Philippines and around Great Britain and has plans to teach abroad in the future. She currently serves on the design teams for FontWerks, Fiskars, Hambly Screen Prints, and Two Peas in a Bucket, as well as a contributing artist to Autumn Leaves.
Grace lives in northern California, in the San Francisco bay area. She’s single and fabulous, focusing her time on family and friends. Grace is a consummate traveler, a pro at sushi-eating, and an avid piano player. She sees the world through her Nikon camera and blogs about her life’s happenings. And for this month, Grace is very honored to be Studio Calico’s April 2008 guest designer.
According to Grace:
When I was a child… I couldn’t bring myself to eat PB & J sandwiches. I wasn’t a mixing type of kid. But, I’m happy to share, finally had my first one just last year. Golf claps.
I can’t imagine my life without… my parents in it. They are my true loves right now.
I would love to win a shopping spree to… (oooh, trouble) an Apple Store. I would clean the store out. Absolutely clean them out.
I was most embarrassed when… I fell during a parade. I ate concrete. Bad memory.
If I could be anywhere, I’d be… on a beach, reading a romance, with a cool drink beside me, all SPF-lathered up, wearing a really tacky
floppy hat.
My least favorite chore is… laundry. Yuck, ew, yuck.
If I could be on any TV game or reality show, it would be…
Dancing with the Stars!! I live for that show. If only.
If a mystery package arrived on my doorstep, I’d hope it to be…
a treasure map. To the best hair salon in town. I need a makeover, stat!
My guilty pleasures are… the Lifetime Channel’s movies-of-the-week. They. Are. Riveting.
I thought I would never… be such a political person. I’m so passionate about politics now.
If a genie granted me three wishes, I’d wish for…
1 – Added height to my frame. At least another inch, come on!
2 – Long life and lots of love for family and friends.
3 – For my future husband to agree with me on everything.
Shazaam!
You would never guess it, but I… surprisingly enjoy Oreos dunked in milk. Who would have thought?
