Lisa Garay from American Canyon, California
Born in the southern-most part of CA, Lisa moved to northern California when she was 6 months old to further a career in diapers and toddling.
While in grammar school, she was a standout, and the principal took a heavy interest in her career, meeting frequently with her. She attended Bethany College in 1996 & 1997 and received an MRS from the dean (her husband) - Martin Garay in 1999. With both Education and Theatre majors, she was on the fast track to either a career in teaching drama or just living it.
For the past 5 years, she has enjoyed life in the peaceful Napa Valley with her hero husband and two beautiful, yet rambunctious, children.
In her spare time — well, she never has spare time — but sometimes she likes to scrap and write bios that don't make any sense.
Lisa has been published in Creating Keepsakes, Memory Makers magazine and books, Legacy, and other publications. She has been on the design teams for Fancy Pants Designs, We R Memory Keepers, Prism Papers, and Provo Craft. She also earned an honorable mention in the 2007 Making Memories Masters contest. She is currently a fashionista for Scrap in Style TV.
According to Lisa:
When I was a child... I would make clothes for my Barbie dolls out of my mom’s colored, stretchy, knee-high socks.
I can't imagine my life without... God, my husband & children.
I would love to win a shopping spree to... Anthropologie!
If I could be anywhere, I'd be... on a tropical island with my husband.
My least favorite chore is... cleaning the bathroom… yuck!
If I could be on any tv game or reality show, it would be... Win a date with Bon Jovi.
If a mystery package arrived on my doorstep, I'd hope it would be... a maid with a million dollars.
My guilty pleasure is... eating the sour candy I hide from my children.
I never knew I would... know all the names of the transformers … I could tell you all about the Autobots and the Decepticons.
You would never guess it, but I... can tell you all about power tools. My dad owns a hardware store & that’s where I grew up.
