Layle Koncar from Sandy, Utah
Layle Koncar is the Marketing Director for Scenic Route. She began scrapbooking 11 years ago with the birth of her first son and jumped at the chance 2 years ago to take on scrapbooking as her ‘real job’ after leaving a job running a software company. She’s been teaching for the last 4 years and truly enjoys connecting one on one with other scrapbookers and sharing her passion for the hobby. Her work has been published in Creating Keepsakes, Better Homes and Gardens Scrapbooks Etc., Memory Makers, Paper Crafts, Legacy, Scrapbook Trends and Paper Trends. She authored and contributed to the book Memory Art and is a regular contributor to Paper Crafts books and special issues. In addition to scrapbooking, Layle enjoys interior decorating, skiing, reading, traveling, shopping, going to flea markets and spending time with her husband Nick and her boys Jack and Sam.
According to Layle:
When I was a child I... wanted to be a lawyer in the worst way - my
Grandma even game me a leather briefcase with a legal dictionary in it for
my birthday one year. It wasn't until college that I decided being a lawyer was too stodgy and not for me, so I decided to get my degree in marketing.
I can't imagine my life without... my hubby, kids and music.
I would love to win a shopping spree to... iTunes.
I was most embarrassed when I was... teaching a class at a Creating Keepsakes Convention last year and at the end of the class I found out that I'd taught the wrong class. Oops.
If I could be anywhere, I'd be... on the beach sipping a drink with a cute little umbrella poking out of it (the drink, not the beach, although a cute big umbrella poking out of the beach could come in handy...)
My least favorite chore is... laundry. I hate it. Despise it.
My guilty pleasure is... The Bachelor. Yes, yes, I know. It's mindless drivel. I've watched it since the first season and I'm hopelessly addicted.
I thought I would never... be the mom of 2 boys and all of the sports, dirt, monster trucks, bugs and other things that go hand in hand with boys; I always thought there'd be a Barbie or tutu in there somewhere.
If a genie granted me three wishes, I'd wish for... a laundry genie, a
magic scale (and a magic mirror to go along with it because afterall, what
good is a magic scale without the magic mirror?), and to meet my great
grandkids someday.
You would never guess it, but I... was the only girl on our all boys soccer team at my high school. Not a bad way to meet guys. And hey, I was pretty good (at the soccer, not so good at meeting the guys, too much of a threat I guess).
