Shannon Zickel from Louisville, Kentucky
Shortly after the birth of her first son, Shannon’s dear friend invited her to tag along to a scrapbooking class. Being the great friend that she is, Shannon hesitantly agreed to go but repeatedly swore she would not pick up this hobby. 9 years later she hasn’t stopped creating, and her friend… well, she hasn’t done a page since!
Shannon enjoys scrapping multi-page, multi-photo layouts. She admits that her biggest time saver when scrapping is using a white background and then adding lots of colors with photos, embellishments and paper. Her favorite part of creating layouts is finding fun and unique ways to incorporate the titles of her pages into the overall design.
In 2005 Shannon was honored to be added to the Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame. She then went on to serve as a member of the 2007 BHG Scrapbooks Etc. Creative Team, where you can still see her work on a frequent basis. Shannon has been published in many of the industry-leading magazines and was formerly a member of the American Crafts Design Team.
Shannon lives in Louisville, Kentucky with her husband Kenny and two sons Jake and Eli. Besides scrapbooking, Shannon enjoys organizing and decorating her home, watching and coaching her sons’ sports teams, and is hooked on many embarrassing reality TV shows!
According to Shannon:
When I was a child… I was a MAJOR tomboy- I even got kicked out of ballet class and girl scouts!
I can’t imagine my life without… having such a close family- my 3 boys at home along with my parents, sisters, their families, and on and on!
I would love to win a shopping spree to… Pottery Barn- along with one of their designers who puts together their catalogs to come along and help me out!
My least favorite chore is… cleaning the bathrooms- luckily my husband does that one for us!
If I could be on any tv game or reality show, it would be… I really wanted to be on the Real World back when I was in college- even sent in an application. And I also think my college years would have been a good show- a Louisville, Kentucky version of Laguna Beach!
I thought I would never… move out of Louisville- I did- I lived in Indy for about 2 years.
